The John Trumbull Collection is a compilation of letters and engravings from 1812-1844. These documents were collected by Stan V. Henkels for an upcoming auction in Philadelphia in 1897. The letters and engravings have been pasted into a bound book in a scrapbook style.

Collection summary derived from "Guidebook to Manuscripts", 1969: Willie Baze Lane Pond (1896-1947) was the first teacher of the Kiowa Five Native American Artists: Spencer Asah, Jack Hokeah, Steven Mopope, and Monroe Tsatoke. She also taught James Auchiah, Carl Dietrich, June Jones, Ruby Pedrick, Lois Smoky, and Carl Sweezy. This collection includes letters about paintings, art exhibits and associations, as well as scrapbooks, sketchbooks, clipping and magazines.
