Description

Confederate States Commissioner Albert Pike concluded this eighty-seven page treaty between the Confederate States, Choctaw Nation, and Chickasaw Nation at North Fork Town in Creek Nation West. Although the treaty was concluded in Creek Nation West, there is no evidence in the document to indicate the participation of Creek Nation. Included in the document are signatures for the Confederate States, Choctaw Nation, and Chickasaw Nation. Folder 10

John Drew wrote from Fort Gibson to Brig. Genl. McCulloch. Drew stated that a copy of the intercepted Warfield letter, 4026.1809, was enclosed. He also reported that the detachment would be sent to R. B. Daniel's to arrest Warfield or any other person in communication with the enemy. Folder 299

Description

Winchester Colbert was the Governor of the Chickasaw Nation. Colbert reported on the Grand Council of Confederate Nations at Armstrong Academy and about the delegation to negotiate with U. S. for a honorable peace. 4026.1859.1 is a letter from the office of the National Secretary. William Harrison certified that 4026.1859 was a true copy and that the original was on file in his office. He was the National Secretary for the Chickasaw Nation. Folder 335
