A photograph of three photographs of separate paintings on one page. First painting is of a wagon train, second painting shows Indian men on horses on a hilltop, and the third painting shows a herd of buffalo with a wolf. This appears to be taken from a negative of three different photographs.

Curatorial Remarks
This appears to be a photograph of the 1859 version of Moran's painting, Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came. Moran created a smaller version in 1885 [See 4316.5606] . The painting was inspired by Robert Browning's poem of the same name, which was in turn inspired by Shakespeare's King Lear.

Curatorial Remarks
This appears to be a photograph of the 1885 version of Thomas Moran's painting, Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came. Moran created a larger version early in his career in 1859 [see 4316.5607]. The painting was inspired by Robert Browning's poem of the same name, which was in turn inspired by Shakespeare's King Lear.
