Trial against a 77 year-old priest, Fray Bartolomé de Salvatierra of the order of Nuestra Señora de Merced in Mexico City (originally from Seville), for solicitation in the confessional. Imprisoned in the secret cells. Denounced by three women for his soliciting them, their friends, and daughters in the confessional at the Convento de Merced. He confessed to soliciting 8 married and single women, and he knew 3 or 4 of them carnally. After he was charged as abjure de levi, he was no longer allowed to give mass or sacraments in the Convent of Mreced, his religious orders were suspended, and received excommun mayor, and exile.
