Inside: florals with "The blush of the morn, the stars of the night, everything lovely, and holy, and bright, Speaks to my heart, O dear one! of thee; Sunlight and starlight thou art unto me". With "Harry" on back. Gilcrease Journal Vol. XX no. 2 Fall 2013 pg 11 notes the "C" on the back as a price/size code for McLoughlin Company, unable to confirm.

Description

The dinner plate is made of cream colored earthenware with a transparent glaze that has a small interval craquelure. A Floral band, approximately .25 inch wide, decorates the outer edge of the plate and is composed of black, green, pink, yellow and gold over glaze enamels, possibly a transfer print. The plate has been used as a palette and has a thick accretions of dried white paint and thin areas of several other colors: blue, red, yellow, dark green, red brown, and dark brown.
